
Caramel Apple Bars

This fall dessert combines the flavors of a caramel apple on an oatmeal cookie-like crust!
Details
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 2-3 apples, cored and diced
- 1/4 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping, heated slightly so pourable
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray cooking spray in a 2 quart (7×11) casserole dish.
- In a bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
- Press 2/3 of the mixture into the prepared dish. Bake for 8 minutes.
- Spread the apples over the crust.
- Drizzle the caramel topping generously over the apples.
- Crumble the remaining crust over the top.
- Return to oven for an additional 15 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting.
