The Best Store Bought Veggie Burger
July 15th, 2010
A good veggie burger is essential for summer barbeques and quick meals. But finding the best store bought veggie burger can be a challenge. With so many on the market, its hard to know which to choose without trying each one.

In my 7 years as a vegetarian, I have narrowed my playing field down to Morningstar Farms. But there are many varieties of Morningstar Burgers, you say! This is true, but I can’t remember which one. I do know it comes down to two competitors: Morningstar Farms Grillers Prime and Morningstar Farms Grillers Original.
I’ve never really paid attention to the difference between the two. I usually purchase whatever I grab first in my grocer’s freezer. But this weekend, I decided I would once and for all determine which is THE best.
So using the Mock Red Robin Whisky River BBQ Burger recipe, we had a taste test. On Saturday, we used the Grillers Original burger. It was good, but it tasted a bit too real, too greasy for me. My husband loved it.
On Sunday, we used the Grillers Prime burger. I loved it! This was far and away my favorite. It wasn’t the least bit greasy, and it was just enough like a real burger without making me queasy. My husband liked it, but less so than the Grillers Original.
